San Francisco Express

San Francisco Express - Getting It Together is a Jazz/Funk intergalactic space odyssey recorded in 1975. The group is led by Moog/Synthesizer virtuoso Patrick Gleeson and Trumpet player Woody Shaw. Gleeson is the synthesizer mastermind behind the 1970's landmark albums by Herbie Hancock (Crossings, Sextant) & Charles Earland (Leaving This Planet). Recorded at Gleeson's Different Fur Studios in San Francisco's Mission District and originally released on the Reynolds Records label, the album fuses spaced-out synthesizers with heavy drum breaks. Street-Corner Funk masterfully blended with Cosmic Soul Jazz.
